Check out this one that's still for sale. Youtube User: SeattleClassic
1957 Chevy Black Widow with a fresh Rotisserie restoration with only 150 miles. ook her around the track at Evergreen Speedway, which was much fun. Thanks to Evergreen Speedway for allowing us full access to the track to take photos and take her on a test run!
Maybe your 4 stepsons will pool together and buy her back for you, that would be the right thing to do.
@duaneafields I've had loads of 55-57 chevys and never once did a speedometer stick.. Probably just needs to be taken apart and lubed up. The old grease drys up.
Makes good sense. Speedo should work with a car at that price, I suppose I like mine stuck above 70. If it were stuck at 30 then, yes, a definite fix! He did fix it before selling, that's good. See, I thought this was this man's only classic car and I was like don't sell it, then I see dozens of classics in a shop, so this is just a hobby/lifestyle thing. Glad to see his car go and drive and not sit pretty.
Yeah?... Well you should repair it before asking 50k for it... Seriously, that doesn't irritate you?
When that kind of money is being asked for an unoriginal 50+ year old car, I think it not unreasonable for there to be at the VERY least,
"Attention to OBVIOUS detail"
I mean C'mon man... I know we live in a nation that buys $5 cups of coffee and spends exuberant amounts of money on chinese sweatshop made designer clothing, but the fucking speedometer should have been fixed.
PERIOD.
dude, if you knew chevy's the speedometer's always stick. Mine is at 72mph always.
A million to one, well you be the one in a million and don't sell your car. Remember most marriages these days end within 4 years. Save your car and your money, have those men pay for that love.
It sold for $49,000.00 with a new speedo. He drove it and said SOLD!
Whats that?.. One of those custom 30mph speedometers?
When you want 50 grand for a car, you need to make sure that stuff is right.
Gee, makes me wonder what other "minor" details were missed?
50k, no thanks.
Its not Muscle Car

Jeff,
I watched the video of the "Today" show. Amazing. Oh well, that car won't love you back. Here's to your beautiful daughters and their future husbands. May God bless you all, and may you and your wife have many grandbabies to spoil.
@dale1966gto: I was born at the very beginning of the last decade, and am very inclined to agree with you on that :-).

I was a h.s. freshman in'67. A guy in our h.s. had a 4-door '57 Chevy with a slightly built up 283. This was years ago. We thought that a 427 'Vette was the ultimate.
I don't care. I still think we had the ultimate cars. I don't care about currrent E.T.'s.
