My Dad Had a Green and white 2 door Hardtop with the Hemi. Power windows Air conditioning, push Button Automatic, Power seats. Good Solid dependable Car. The gas Gauge didn't work so My Mother would Put a Dollars worth of gas in it anytime she went anywhere. One Saturday Dad was going to take the family on an Outing but decided to go fill up with gas before going anywhere. Well it wouldn't hold a Dollars worth. Gas at the time was About 27 or 28 cents a gallon for premium.
@dmc081 taller not bigger.
superbird and daytona charger had big ones too/
They don't make them like that anymore, that was my point.

very unusal car here in sweden! butt my freind has a 57- 2 door ht witch i perfer mutch more
Fucking great american car from the past.
And the '59 Caddy was a butt-ugly affair with tacky, bolt-on fins, unlike Mopar fins, which were handsomely integrated in the design. BTW, Imperial fins for '61 went higher than any Caddy, if you care about such things.
Correction. The red arrow moved from left to right...
Back in 1971, I "Inhereted" my grandfathers 1957 Fireflite. It had a 413 Hemi. It was fun to push it in 1st, stomp on the pedal and wind it up, push the 2 button, then at about 70 mph, push the "D" button. Not long after that, was goin about 95 easy. It was a trip to bury the speedo which was a red arrow that moved from right to left. When buried, all you saw was a solid red bar. Heh.
I was agreeing with you.
no i've seen bigger trust look up online
@dmc081
That's what I thought, at least what I've always been told.
58 plymouth fins are big to
59 caddy had bigger fins
Yes the F D was the Hemi.
I dunno but that's probably the greatest greatest greatest greatest movie EVAR.
Wasn't a Firedome a Hemi? Motor looks like a standard wedge.
They made beautiful, solid cars those days.
cool, it looks like it has the same stering weel as a fury from the same year.
thats a geart car but the car with the biggest fins was the 59 cadillac
Stupendous! I loved the one I once owned
Nomasain: Yes, originally, they did - but most of these eventually were prone to rust-through due to the gasses and gunk that the exhaust left on the chrome, eating away the metal. I can see why this guy would think twice about re-routing them back through that way - although it WAS super-cool. 57 Buicks had this feature, too if you can see a pic of one.
Arent the exhaust pipes/gasses supposed to come out from underneath the tail lights?
I believe the rear bumper is modified to house the exhaust.
What about the fins on the San Diego taxicabs in IT'S A MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD? |
