Menschen, die solchen Scheiß stundenlang bestarren, habe für mich eindeutig eine Klatsche.

FYI the singer is Joanna Koslowska

movie by John GOLDSCHMIDT Wolfgang G. FISCHER

there is a nice movie from the year 1980 about egon schiele and his life a biographie. i watched it today, nice vienna accent very life like, btw i am from austria

No, no, you are correct. But it might be said that they were contemporaries, they died in the same year, 1918, and Klimt was definately in the art world before him, so in a sense, yes you have a point.

I might be wrong, but I think it was Klimt who influenced Schiele.

In my humble opinion Schiele was among the masters of the human form in C20. His work is expressive, but intelligent. I think Schiele is outstanding.

Well, thanks for pointing that out if it's more accurate. 24 hours, 3 days...such a great talent, gone almost overnight along with his wife and unborn child, just when he was right on the verge of attaining the elusive personal fulfilment he'd so deeply craved...whatever the actual time-frame, it was nothing short of a profound tragedy.

Actually, Schiele died within 3 days of his wife; not within 24 hours. Just wanted to point that out.

I've been loving Egon Schiele since I was 30 - a 7-year love!

What music did you use to accompany the paintings?

Definately. I think he strongly influenced Klimt though, you can see that in his poses and brushwork, but I love both painters.

One of the most powerful painters in my opinion.

I think these pictures are very very amazing, thank you for posting this.

he has had a profound impact on several animators... and contemporary artists Takashi Murakami and Kara walker a contribution to the canon often has a delayed absorption you see a reaction to methods immediately, versus a utilization.

shut up u moron. Do you even look at modern painters work, or any painting since E S?

I think his work was more mature than that, don't try to make him the Jim Morrison of the art world.

Mabey he could have been but he died ridiculously young, hes one of the great could have beens in art.

I think Egon has a lot of character in his paintings An artist does not have to shatter or change art history in order to be great. If you believe that then you are letting other people decide what artists are amazing for you.

it is! it is not klimt. it is not van gogh, it is not picasso, his pictures are very unique and contributing, absolutely!

me too!

Interesting Pictures, :)

agree!!!

lol I guessed right that this comment box would be full of likewise angsty self deprecating yet paradoxically self adoring youngsters. I mean don't get me wrong, egon was a great artist, but his contribution to the actual progression of art movements and the canon of western art is not that great.
