Description: If you're a New Zealander concerned about the Police changes which classify many thumbhole stocks (including the Dragunov) as E-Category then visit my vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSUMzx4UoMY My Russian Izhmash Dragunov Tigr with full SVD length 620mm barrel as obtainable from the factory and available here in New Zealand. Part 3: Ammunition and shooting Best to view in high quality if you possibly can. Additional info: My Tigr has a twist rate of 1:320mm or 1:12.6" the same as the SVD originally had before the SVD's was tightened to 1:240mm or 1:9.4" to better stabilise heavy ammunition such as armour piercing bullets. The tighter twist comes at a cost to accuracy with lightweight ammunition. Therefore, as I have the lesser twist rate, ideally I should be shooting lightweight ammo to get the most out of this Tigr. Thanks to 'ok131583' for the info. Measuring my twist rate came in line with 1:320mm. Best group I've achieved so far @100m - .58MOA (17mm center to center with 180gr Highland AX) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii191/Grantman_album/17mm58moa.jpg Further groupings. 100m - .76MOA (203gr Barnaul SP) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii191/Grantman_album/smallestdragunovgroupat100meters.jpg and at 200m - .78MOA (203gr Barnaul SP) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii191/Grantman_album/smallestdragunovgroupingat200meters.jpg 200m on top, 100m underneath http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii191/Grantman_album/DSC02845.jpg Part 1: A look at the rifle, field strip and a look at the action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DbNyBsCvCk Part 2: Rotating bolt system and optics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REmbJbrIBEg

I saw a case of that mil-surp at a gun show the other day, thought about picking some up for my Mosin. Wondered how you got into it. Looks to be about as big a pain in the ass as I'd figured. Also looks like a good way to cut the hell out of your hand if you aren't careful. :P

I gott that gun and looks like person shooting cant handle it but if u killed someone perfect pos but u gonna have to handle in the air so u can hide after -_-

I WANT ONE
how much does it costes!!!!it is so good sniper rifle

I don't spoon feed. Best wishes for your self education.

its not in wood :(

Mate, you've got a LOT to learn...

I was stubborn and didnt turn down the volume now my cat hates me... :(

yeah Hungarian quality.. I'm also Hungarian so I know what it means...:D

Milplus ammo is always so pretty and organized in the box XD

now i know why they call it the Dragunov

Grannman I'm dissappointed. Such a nice long haul shooting rifle and didn't go for 300 yards. That's what it's meant for, dude. Is is a property thing? Nice vids, especially opening the ammo box....funny stuff.

i love how he uses his ironing board

movie is very good and professional. because of sound this rifle in russian army call "hlist" (knout)

Many people in the west wrongly think that SVD=marksman The concept marksman does not provide development of new samples instead of existing. it is based on selection from already made samples of the best on accuracy and equipment by their optical sights.

7,62X51 Not completely full power cartridge (real full power cartridge it 7,62x54r and 7.92x57mm Mauser) More exact definition for SVD: It is created for the sniper working in structure of a platoon, On average distances (400-800m) for defeat of suddenly appearing enemy And fast carry of fire on depth To width and height (city) (bolt action it is effective for action in Ambush,War of a trench also it is ineffective in fast, unpredictable city Fight)

nice

GOTTA LOVE THE SOUND THIS BABY MAKES

basically it means they use salt as one of the components in the primer. Salt attracts moisture if left to sit thus you get rust.

whats the deal with corrosively primed? i never really understood that

i didnt know dragonuvs had a bolt catch

With the heavy 203gr ammo recoil is fairly meaty. I haven't had the rifle 'string' rounds when hot (keeping in mind I'm only using 5 round mags rather than 10 so more time to cool off). I havn't shot any rifles in the same class (i.e. scoped semi auto, full power cartridge) other than the lent Norinco M14/M305 in my recent vids, and between the two I preferred my Dragunov. The Dragunov isn't in the bolt action accuracy class, but for laying down quick, targeted fire it does the job.

how heavy was the recoil? and how was the accuracy when firing multiple rounds? did u find the dragunov surprise u in anyway, and would u recommend other sniper rifles.

PS, not that it matters with this rifle but the lightest ammo available without reloading here is 180gr. Nothing personal but the heavy ball thing through the dragunov action is a common misconseption. Izhmash has axed it by listing bullet weights on their website for the Tigr.

wrong, but I'm so sick of explaining. Just read the comments.
