Dear friend, you can go to website KJ Yesudas, and check the background. Why he was given name Yesu and all you will get to know, he was born in a Catholic family. But I love and respect Kishorekumar too, he is not Christian. I just gave description of his name. That's all.
I mean to say, he is a Hindu follower,,,
But he is Hinu follower,,watch his interviews
What ever is written here in comment, I don't understand, but I know only, you wrote something good for Respected Yesudasji. I think you are from south(Malayali) we respect with our heart to your own Malayali Singer, he stole our heart with voice. God bless him a lot.
Yesudasji, your voice really tells the language like you are a Das of Yesu. So beautiful voice. Like to sing along, all the songs. Hats Off Yesudasji. With great Respect
Don't forget my love

Indeed... Hats off to Yesudas inspite of all the ridicule against him...
Yes its true..and especially Yesudas needs to be greatly appreciated. He made great efforts to learn Hindi even after he became a well-known Malayalam playback singer. So,
Yesudas = talent+hardwork.
And more over...especially in those days, you couldnt become a playback singer if you arent classically trained....maybe except Kishore Kumar..I dnt know whether he was classically trained
I m sorry for the multiple posts cz I was exceedin the word count...
well said...
Rafi learnt classical music from maestros Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan, Pandit Jiwanlal Matto and Firoze Nizami.
And because I am a student of Carnatic music myself, please believe what meagre knowledge i hav imparted here as truthful. If you wish I can even give you the links to the Hindusthani classical songs which Mohd Rafi has sung.
My friend... who said that Rafi is not a classical singer???? Thats ignorance. Rafi is classically trained. He has learnt Hindusthani classical. And Yesudas is also a classical singer, he has learnt Carnatic classical. Hindusthani is North Indian classical music and Carnatic is south Indian classical. Basically both hav 'saptha swaras' (seven notes)The is only difference in the style f singing in both.
See there is a difference. Yesudas is a classical singer. while Rafi was not. So while Rafi was amazing in his playback, yesudas's music prowess and base is much much higher than Rafi. Not because he was more talented, but because he was not trained in it. Simple. And because of that Yesudas has got more techniques to his singing.
excellent!
Yesudas was inspired by Rafi saab..He grew up listening to Rafi saabs songs. He himself agrees this.. Both are equally great... Why compare one legend with another legend? (now others plz dont attack me with fanatic replies!..for ur information I too am a malayali and a Dassettan fan)
Yesudas and Rafi sir started their career before most of us were even born. Both of them are legends in the music world .Please stop this stupid argument. Both of them have divine voice.
After reading some of the comments and present state of India, it seems a volcanic eruption resulting in blood bath is on its way. Seeing all this I think time has come for true Indians to stay united and those who are not, to let cut loose from Indian Union. I as an Indian is fed up with this leg pulling contest going on among indians. Wake up Indians either lets make India a force to reckon with or go our separate ways once and for all
