well for a start make sure to stay away from oil i f you have cold moisture in the mix...cold water and hot oil don't go well together

I made vada and it burst and i got some burns on my hand with oil spilling. I have followed this recipe before and it always went well except for this time which has slightly shaken me :). Can somebody tell me why it happened so that I can try making vada again with confidence :).

You must dip your hands in water and keep it wet for the paste not to stick to your hand. Urad dhal is very sticky ingredient.
i just couldn't make the hole in the vadai :(( the paste was sticking to my hand.

I like all ur videos and the way u explain. So simple and great. I saw this video of making medu vada. I have a suggestion. While grinding the paste if we add ginger and green chillies at the end, it tastes great. MY grandma used to add some butter to the ground mixture for the vadas get more crispier....
