Wow, Japan is going to bring back the arcades in America.

cant imagine if your running and the battery of one of those finish.

isn't this just a fancy treadmill...? xD LOL. it's still kool x]

OMG... ur right... LOL. its stupid.

lol, yea

MAGNETO!!!!

looks like the next step for the wii

Considering that we could use our resources in much better ways, like helping the Haitians, those cubes are just worthless...

it doesn't have to its just displaying technology. They won't actually release this its just research. God these people who say everything is useless starts to piss me off.

@Zachiiee of course it is! didn't you read? it was for Virtual Reality Technologies? Min 0:36

"With robot tiles, peoples location do not change, even if they are walking." - Theres no fucking point in walking if it doesnt get you anywhere?! Looks cool but theres no use for it...

would be good for arcade stuff... but better if it was faster...

I see the arcades coming back.

i would rather get a treadmill than spending a sum of money getting this machine!

wast of time

this is so fucking useless, it's only intended to get game-addicts less fat! and you know what they'll do, sell their game tiles because they're to lazy to move around, all they wanna do is sit behind a screen all day and do nothing to improve our society, trying to get addicts skinny?not realistic, face it, america is fat, what are you gonna do 'bout it

i say the wii gets this videogame first hahaha

Stacking is too complicated and unreliable. They would just telescope vertically.

fuck military applications soldiers are fools

Its a start.

In the future they could have thousands of small versions of those robots that could also stack on top of one another so they form three dimensional structures to simulate unstable terrain or stairs.

its clearly in its early stages. give it ten years and watch what it can do. it could possible even allow you to put a full car on it and make it seem like your driving if they work on this right.....

FINALLY a way to FULLY move around in a 3d environment for a videogame or military training tool. cant wait for it to become affordable....

ur kinda stupid, he was talking abt wat its for.

there was a prototype of a huge robotic arm had that 9 points of rotation and could move 360 degrees any way on tv last night. only it had a seat with a huge curved screen infront of it at the end of the arm.... the ultimate arcade machine of the future, maybe?
