The idea to send the ad and your business card seems harmless enough, but I'd be annoyed if I opened a letter that seemed like it was some sort of personal matter and it turns out it's junk mail, it'd feel like you're trying too hard, also lying to them is complete shit about how they're a "preferred citizen" and stuff, this video only tells one good and important point, keep up with your prospects and try to be true and sincere, but don't be a douche bag about it like this guy.
So the person has the courtesy of responding to your ad, that you've invested approximately 6 and a half hours of your time in (30 days x 13 mins a day = 390 minutes=6.5hours, nearly a full work day), and you reward them by lying to them. Well thought out. And you're a car salesman. You aren't Dan Rather. Names dont "come across a car salesman's desk". How about: Sell a car. Get three referrals. Make a sale. Get three referrals. Make a sale...and be honest...
This is sad. I realize this guy has about 10K every month to meet what his family needs, i.e. college tuitions, house payment, everything. Then I saw this same guy, not exactly, sitting at TGIF at the bar crying in his beer when his over 100K job got cut because the dealership got cut. I saw him, in his late 50's, knowing he will never get a job like that and his trophy wife will divorce him and he will have to move into an apartment with people he has never known his entire life.

If you spent 13 minutes a day staying in contact with your old clients you'd sell more off referrals alone... Send people adverts? What is this? The 80s?
you send out 30 a month....one out of 30 is a very high response rate for direct mail. a successful direct mail campaign has response rates around 1/2 of one percent.

It is pretty sad that the dealer cant be upfront, a business where they have to hide fees? A person isbeing ripped off when a hidden charge is "cooked " in the car bill. Just be honest. I wouldnt buy a car from your weak ass

That doesn't happen & is unlikely to ever happen. I WOULD do it differently from the video,but the point is prospecting and doing anything is always better than doing nothing. I'm sure you would neg any campaign.

I already use it and it's a great system. I know people that use that for all kinds of sales. I used to use it in real estate. You folks should give it a look.
Anyone is as successful as their income dictates....you dig! A sharpie can go far & take a flight anywhere to sell cars as easy somewhere else the next day. It's a profession. Ain't no man that walks on the lot any better than me....unless maybe he gives us his money and takes some metal with him. The up's lie to me and do a bad job of it. Me, I tell the truth cause it's the easiest thing to remember. I also take the spleen....but after..I will go to the wall for you as a customer forever.
So what do you say to the customer that asks "How did my name happen to come across your desk?" Do you lie? You got it out of the phone book! Come on...people can sense bullshit and those out there that don't believe that are full of shit themselves! If you told me I was a preferred member of the community I would ask "In what way?" No need to remember or play back the video if you just tell the truth! Crap like this is why people hate car salesmen!
Sounds like a good technique but I think you would be better off sending it to one of your service customers who have a vehicle that is 3-4 years old instead of someone in the phone book--it would just increase your odds of getting someone who already is comfortable with your dealership (service) and your product.
