Maybe because the album "The Royal Scam" is such a massive "hit" (against my chest & eardrums, that is) collection by itself? Back in the old vinyl days, when I started making notes of my personal liking of songs, it got ridiculously difficult on this particular album. Finally I ended up with two 9/10, three 10/10 and the rest in between. :-)

Dan and Donald Fagen have been the soundtrack of my youth. I always love the intelligent multiple layered lyrics.

I'm 18 and i saw these guys in montreal a summer ago at the jazz fest in montreal. 150 for me too, wanted a good row. Regardless my mom got me into this group, so much soul, favorite band. I never thought i would like something like this.

Just curious. How was Fagen's voice? On a lot of the recent live stuff on YouTube his voice sounds a bit diminished, much as it did at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction performance.

One of the better concerts I've seen in the last 30 years.Lucked out and saw this album being done to perfection at the Tower Theater.If not the best,pretty dam close to being the best back-up band I have ever heard live.

They always told and tell it like it is. Steely Dan holds no punches. Music like this may never return the corporate giants have brainwashed the masses to an extent that is beyond frightening. People actually believe the rhetoric nowadays.

The best Jazz and Blues infusion band ever. Thank God they are still touring. Two musical genuis's.
